Angelella Editorial partners with Twilight Histories podcast on new Elixir event!
We’re really excited to announce our new partnership with alternative history podcast Twilight Histories! Twilight Histories offers up original and intriguing alternate history short fiction, putting the listener directly into the story as a time traveler sent to witness historical events. Listeners explore Egypt ravaged by an Ice Age, a Carthaginian colony on Mars, a resurgent Aztec empire, and many other strange and exotic alternate histories. TH does an amazing job of not only telling interesting stories, but engaging audiences with both drama and atmosphere.
Last summer, Twilight Histories founder Jordan Harbour announced he’ll be giving writing lessons. For Angelella Editorial Event Manager and Business Editor Daniel Waldman, a lightbulb went off. What better way to learn to write alternative history than to experience history first hand?
That’s why we are proud to announce that we’ve started planning an Elixir writers retreat with Twilight Histories, which will take place in France at a future date. Just like Elixir: France, participants will experience expert writing instruction, free time to write, and fun French cultural and historical experiences to put us all in the writing mindset.
To that end, we’ve put together a survey to help us formulate what that event looks like.
Oh, and if you’re wondering about Elixir: France, it’s still on! While we can’t predict the future, we’re staying positive and proceeding with caution. We rescheduled it for June 2021 and we have now three openings available. You can learn more about the event and apply on the Elixir webpage.
