More About David…
David (he/them) is a writer, musician, and graphic artist. He has contributed both written and visual content to a variety of websites, performed at poetry slams, and worked with artists of all ages and disciplines with the shared goal of expressing challenging and resonant emotions and stories through different mediums.
Drawn to all tales odd from an early age, when his mother used to read to him from the Alfred Hitchcock and The Three Investigators series before bed, David brings a near lifetime of experience with the strange and macabre to Angelella Editorial.
He favors speculative settings and what Neil Gaiman used to refer to as “sophisticated horror,” scary stories that reveal something universal about the human experience, the troubles facing our world, and the struggles found within coming-of-age narratives. David holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
In late 2021, David launched The Quiet Ones, a digital-exclusive horror and dystopian fiction magazine which he co-executive edits with fellow Angelella Editorial editor, Emily Young. David’s original flash fiction is featured in the Hundred Word Horror series of anthologies from Ghost Orchid Press.
With a background in multiple artistic disciplines, David has imbued a love of alternative style in his own writing. Be it stories written in verse, graphic novels, or flash fiction to name a few, if left-of-the-dial is where your frequency lies, David would be thrilled to work with you.

Testimonials.
“I had the honor of working with David on a book in its early stages, and their feedback was extensive and thoughtful, and it helped me deepen the plot, characters, and the story as a whole. David has a keen understanding of plot and their detailed edit letter was immeasurably helpful.”
- Ann Dávila Cardinal, author of Five Midnights and Category Five, and Bram Stoker Award Finalist
“Working with David restored my faith in editors, and the editing process in general. From our first correspondence, David demonstrated both professionalism and competency, and made it clear that his interest in helping me develop my manuscript was sincere. Early on he expressed a genuine desire to improve my project while maintaining my style of writing and voice, and he never gave me reason to doubt his ability to help me create something incredible. He was not only approachable when I had questions or concerns, but also proved to be as critically empowering as an editor can and should be. With his guidance, edits, and support, I was able to turn my manuscript into something I’m incredibly proud of. I am forever grateful for the honesty and transparency that he and Angelella Editorial demonstrated during my time with them. I would not hesitate to recommend David to any author who may be in need of an editor, in fact, I would be proud to do so. I am grateful for my experience working with him and with Angelella Editorial, and found that they met every expectation I had as a young author.”
- Travis Hall, Author
“Working with David has been amazing. His edit letter was incredibly thorough and detailed and after only a partial he seemed to have such a great understanding of the story and how I want to tell it. While he laid out the weaker areas of my story in a very cut clear manner, he somehow did it in a way that had me excited and inspired to go back and fix the problems- and as someone who finds revising a bit of a slog- that was some feat! Not only was his feedback exceptional but when we chatted via zoom he was super easy to talk to and genuinely enthusiastic about my work. He has been open to questions, taking time to clarify and explain things throughout the process and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him. Seriously, I can not recommend him enough.”
- Makayla O’Brien, Fantasy Writer
